North Summit School District

I am running for Seat #5 of the North Summit School Board. I would like to ask for your vote this election cycle to continue serving the students and community I love after serving the past 16 years as a school administrator for both North Summit High School and North Summit Elementary.

1. I have a deep understanding of education at all levels, having served students K-12.
2. My own children are proud graduates of North Summit, having been enrolled in our schools from the time we moved here 17 years ago. This provides me with insight into the hub that the school system is as we raise children in the community.
3. I don’t believe in either/or thinking. I look for ways to accomplish goals and fill needs. Looking at all angles of an issue is paramount if we are to get the best outcome.
4. Education is about many different aspects and constituencies. Students, parents, and school personnel all have needs that have to be considered and valued.
5. Decisions must be made with student needs as a priority.
6. I have 31 years of experience in education.
7. I served on the Utah State High School Activities Association Board of Trustees.
8. I served as the chair of the Northern Utah Curriculum Consortium.
9. Both schools that I served as principal saw strong academic gains and student achievement.
10. I learned to serve students within tight budget constraints and practiced financial discipline.
11. I have deep respect for those that came before us and built this community.
